Description

A delightful wrap that captures the essence of a classic Philly Cheesesteak, featuring tender steak, melted cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 200g cheese (cheddar or provolone)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers and sauté until softened and slightly caramelized.
  3. Incorporate the steak strips, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Lay the tortillas flat and add a portion of the steak and vegetable mixture along with a handful of cheese.
  5. Roll the tortillas tightly around the filling.
  6. Toast the wraps in the pan for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown, if desired.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with dips or sauces.

Notes

Prepare the filling in advance for quicker assembly. For a vegan option, substitute beef with grilled Portobello mushrooms or tofu.
